The girdle of a diamond on which a band of small facets has been cut to increase the brilliance. It was introduced by Ernest G. H. Schenck. A girdle with 40 small facets has been developed by LouisH. Roselaar in the United States, and is found on a multi-facet diamond and on a royal 144 cut diamond.
