Global Ring Size Guide

Various systems are employed globally to denote jewellery ring sizes:

  • United States and Canada: Ring sizes follow a numerical scale, including quarter and half sizes. Each full-size increment corresponds to an increase of 0.032 inches (0.8128 mm) in diameter or approximately 1/10 inch (2.55 mm) in inner circumference.
  • Europe (excluding Ireland and the UK): Ring sizes are based on a numerical scale, which also includes half sizes.
  • Ireland, United Kingdom, and Australia: Ring sizes are designated using an alphabetical scale, which also includes half sizes.
  • Japan: Ring sizes follow a numerical scale that includes only whole sizes.
  • Switzerland: Ring sizes are based on a numerical scale that includes quarter and half sizes.
  • Germany: Ring sizes are measured by the internal diameter in millimetres, following the ISO standard.
  • ISO Standard: The international standard for ring sizes, ISO 8653, defines sizes based on the ring's inner circumference, measured in millimetres.
