A charming ca. 1930 vintage bar brooch, designed as a small naturalistic insect poised upon a slender gold pin. Its baroque pearl body gives the jewel a soft, living irregularity, while rose cut diamond wings and a ruby-coloured detail lend a quiet flicker of light. Though made in the interbellum period, it still carries the gentle spirit of late Victorian and Edwardian insect jewellery.

Style
Interbellum naturalistic jewellery – Although made around 1930, this charming little bar brooch does not speak the strict geometric language usually associated with Art Deco. Its insect motif, pearl body, rose-cut diamond wings and coloured stone detail
belong instead to the naturalistic jewellery tradition especially loved in the late Victorian and Edwardian periods, and still echoed in jewel design during the interwar years.
